{"id":7351,"date":"2021-09-19T10:23:17","date_gmt":"2021-09-19T08:23:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/natureetresidencevillage.com\/?p=7351"},"modified":"2022-08-31T15:17:25","modified_gmt":"2022-08-31T13:17:25","slug":"lengouement-croissant-des-riches-pour-le-private-equity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/natureetresidencevillage.com\/en\/blog\/investissement\/lengouement-croissant-des-riches-pour-le-private-equity\/","title":{"rendered":"The growing enthusiasm of the rich for private equity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The great fortunes could not be more fond of <strong>private equity.<\/strong> With the <strong>capital investment,<\/strong> they devote part of their capital to the repurchase or <strong>development of unlisted companies.<\/strong> Their objective: to create added value then sell the shares after a few years, with a considerable capital gain at stake.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/natureetresidencevillage.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/private-equity.jpg\" alt=\"L\u2019engouement croissant des riches pour le private equity\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Private equity, the first investment of great French fortunes<\/h2>\n<p>The French Association of Family Offices or AFFO publishes a barometer each year allowing you to have an overview of the choices <strong>of investments<\/strong> of the <strong>families<\/strong> and <strong>offices<\/strong> of <strong>management<\/strong> of <strong>heritage<\/strong> or great fortune in France. The data from this annual barometer indicate a growing enthusiasm among the richest for <strong>capital investment.<\/strong> 21% of them in fact favor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.capital.fr\/entreprises-marches\/private-equity-1380180\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">private equity<\/a>, including 12% via <strong>direct investments<\/strong> \u2013 up 1 point from the previous year \u2013 and 9% via funds.<\/p>\n<p>Comes next <strong>real estate,<\/strong> an area in which <strong>invest<\/strong> 17% of large fortunes \u2013 including 15% in <strong>investment real estate<\/strong> et 2\u00a0% par le biais de soci\u00e9t\u00e9s civiles de <strong>real estate investment<\/strong> or SCPI. The people or entities that bet on listed shares remain numerous and represent 16% of large French fortunes \u2013 their share is however down 6 points compared to the previous year. Life insurance also continues to attract a significant share \u2013 13%, a stable level \u2013 of the richest.<\/p>\n<p>It is also interesting to note that the <strong>debt<\/strong> listed is up 2 points, with rates of 7%. An increase of 3 points is also observed for <strong>tangible assets<\/strong> such as forests, vineyards or agricultural land, with rates of 4%. There <strong>rise<\/strong> however, is limited to 1 point for unlisted debt and philanthropy.<\/p>\n<h2>The determining role of the Pacte law<\/h2>\n<p>The richest favor private equity because it pays off, especially since this <strong>form of investment<\/strong> takes advantage of the Pacte law. The text notably allows savers to <strong>house<\/strong> in their <strong>life insurance contract<\/strong> in units of account of AIFs or alternative investment funds. The professional funds of <strong>capital investment<\/strong> or <strong>FPCI<\/strong> are part of these FIAs. But to be able to accommodate them in a life insurance contract, they must be made up of at least unlisted securities \u2013 which represents a notable advance since previous legislation required 10% unlisted securities.<\/p>\n<p>If some voices further highlight the fact that the Pacte law primarily benefits the wealthy \u2013 an argument that is partly justified since for a <strong>insurance contract<\/strong> can form half of an FIA, it is necessary to mobilize at least \u20ac100,000 \u2013 it is interesting to remember that the objective remains to direct savings in small businesses. In practice, private equity funds help unlisted companies with growth, transfer or recovery needs.<\/p>\n<h2>The level of performance of French private equity players<\/h2>\n<p>The <strong>performance<\/strong> French people and entities at the forefront of <strong>capital investment<\/strong> are promising. This is what emerges from the annual study carried out by France Invest and EY, which reports a net return of 11.2% over fifteen years and a performance level of around 10% since 2014. We note, year after year, that the level of <strong>performance<\/strong> of <strong>private equity<\/strong> French than that of all other long-term asset classes, explains Dominique Gaillard, president of France Invest. However, there are certain significant constraints. For example, it takes eight to ten years to be able to unblock operations. But if the funds of <strong>capital investment<\/strong> are poured into a <strong>life insurance contract,<\/strong> the insurer <strong>guarantees<\/strong> the <strong>liquidity<\/strong> of the said <strong>funds.<\/strong> In the event of the death of the insured, not only do the titles return by right to the heirs but these <strong>capital<\/strong> are exempt from <strong>costs<\/strong> of <strong>exit.<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Les grandes fortunes sont on ne peut plus friandes du private equity.
